Kitchen Gadget Oddities

Grapeshears_1It occurred to me that I could easily write a whole series on all of the odd, unusual gadgets we've seen in client's kitchens.  Right now the one that comes to mind is "Grape Shears." This photo is from http://www.silvercollection.it/pagina13.html.

So for all of you holiday shoppers who are shopping for the "person who has everything," this truly fits the bill...but really, let's not contribute to this insanity.  This accessory, usually silver-plated, is served in a bowl of grapes so people don't have to rip the stems when they want a little cluster.

The moral of the story:  What's in your kitchen gadget drawer? We have seen 7 potato pe7_potato_peelers_1elers before, I think that was the record.  I have a picture of that if you don't believe it- click thumbnail to see enlarged version.  Get realistic about what you use and what you don't, and if you have multiple items, choose your favorite and donate the rest.  Happy gadget organizing!
